Decisions are made by consensus, and must be approved at the next meeting to be valid. Consensus means that we do not vote on things as in ordinary democracy. Instead we talk together, until we have found a solution that all present can support. This sometimes requires long processes and several meetings. This form of cooperation takes time to learn and requires that everyone is willing to listen and cooperate. The result is among other things that everyone can experience being heard, and no one is outvoted. It is voluntary to participate in farm meetings.
Our many working groups are an important bearer of social life in the village. Through them everyone experiences direct connection to the community - and it becomes clear that each person makes a difference and has responsibility for the community’s well-being.
You can be attached to one or more groups, and everyone must be prepared to work about four hours a week for the community (in addition to voluntary participation in the common evening meal arrangement). With the help of the groups we distribute responsibility so no one is overburdened. In the groups we figure out ourselves how and when things should be done.
Four times a year common work days are arranged. It is always super nice to meet this way and feel how much can change when we lift together.
